Corporate Foodservice Chef – Remote

What is a typical day?

The Foodservice Sales team unlocks value with an innovative spirit to bring creative food solutions to our Chain, Restaurant, K-12, College & University & Healthcare customers that enable both our customers and BAF to be a solution leader while growing top-line company growth.

As our Corporate Foodservice Chef, you will influence menu expansion in our largest customers and support the foodservice sales and marketing team with a heavy bias to customer interactions. You will promote BAF’s food portfolio, provides culinary execution in go-to-market support, and collaborate with large, strategic customers to increase menu incidence resulting in significant revenue and profit gains. You will also play a key role in margin optimization and customer expansion. The customer audience will be primarily chain accounts, including most senior executives within customers and some support for Field sales on demand.

Some of the essential duties and responsibilities of this position include:

• Playing an integral role in the Business Plan formation in terms of customer outreach, prioritization, opportunity and new product development.
• Partnering with BAF sales, creates menus and menu items, alone or in partnership with customer teams, for BAF’s largest strategic partners. Presents items along with sales as an executive influencer and expert on product/item menu synergy, business fit, and financial profitability.
• Managing the day-to-day contact with National Accounts and Chain Development Team, including but not limited to customer presentations, executive-level presentations, quarterly business reviews; new product introductions or customer follow-ups.
• Promoting capability platforms with target customers (and Agency Chefs) as directed by National Accounts and Chain Development team, with counsel from Marketing.
• Working closely with all levels of leadership and cross-functional support functions such as R&D, Supply Chain, and Finance. These relationships are invaluable as the role needs to be customer-facing but with an appreciation for the BAF business system.
• Supporting the development of concept to commercialization truly understanding the needs of our largest customers and potential customers, including customer, business & financial needs. The contribution and value will be market inputs versus actual R&D work.

We’re Looking for Someone With:

• Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or Culinary Certification from four-year college or university
• Seven plus (7+) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Foodservice experience is required, manufacturer foodservice a plus

Additional Traits That Set You Apart:

• Excellent knowledge of the Foodservice Business
• Deep customer relationships across the Foodservice landscape (top 500)
• Deep understanding of the Chain restaurant business including back of house needs and of their processes to drive traffic and margin.
• Effective at collaborating with Agencies for mutual benefit.
• Excellent knowledge of consumer needs, operator business systems and Foodservice menu trends.
• Idea generator with consideration to BAF priorities
• Deep understanding and ability to communicate financial implications of foods solutions being presented.
• Ability to negotiate, especially as it relates to trade-offs in ingredient and menu development.
• Expert at communicating, presenting & influencing audiences of all sizes and levels, internally & externally, including executive levels.
