Duties & Responsibilities:
· Bilingual (Spanish & English)
· Verifies I-9 documentation and utilizes E-VERIFY.
· Assists with processing of terminations, New Hires, Status Changes.
· Assists with preparation of performance review forms
· Assists Director with various research projects and/or special projects
· Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by HR Director
· Assists in translation of internal documents from English to Spanish
· Prepares new employee files.
· Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
· Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
· Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
· May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, and fixing processing errors.
· Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
· Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
· May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.
· Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include anti-harassment training and other human resources related trainings.
· Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
· Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
· Assists with and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
· Conduct periodic audits on employee files.
· Understanding of FMLA, ERISSA, DOL, USCIS Laws.

· Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS (refers to job, not incumbent):
Educational Requirements:
· Bachelor or Associates degree in Human Resources or related field a plus
Required Certification/Licensure:
· Define: Professional Certification is a plus. Valid state driver’s license.
· Experience Requirements:
· Minimum 2 years of experience in HR operations
