As a Lead Field RF/Cable Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and service of wireless communications equipment and Public Safety systems in a Service Center or at a customer site. Duties include but not limited to: Installation of DAS wireless equipment, Outdoor/Indoor Antennas, Coax cable, CATV cable Fiber Optic cable, CAT5/6/7 cables. DC Power cables and other appropriate components to NEC/NFPA standards. Preventative maintenance, testing, repairing, and modifying various 2-way radio infrastructures or wireless broadband solutions.
Responsibilities include:
Mounting rack, wall, and ceiling electronic DAS components (BDA’s, Battery backup, DC power plants, Alarms and etc).
Fusion Splice Fiber and OTDR testing.
Connectorize RF cable and test (sweep testing) Anritsu certification a plus.
Terminating coax cable: JMA, Andrews, Trilogy and etc.
Assist with development of project schedules and materials.
Mentoring and leading less experienced technicians.
Complete job related documentation and record keeping.
Deliver and execute customer acceptance test plans per defined customer requirements post installation.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years operating as a field or service technician in wireless or telecommunications industry.
In-depth knowledge of RF theory and propagation characteristics at various frequency bands.
Understanding of basic TCP/IP principles.
Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints and diagrams.
Proficiency in operating various test equipment including, but not limited to spectrum analyzers, system analyzers, watt meters and multi-meters.
Ability to use hand and power tools.
Associates degree preferred in electronics or equivalent work-related experience proficiency with MS Office Suits, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Track record of career achievement.
Effective analytical and communication skills.
Comfortable working in a team environment.
5 years Field Technician experience (preferred).
Driver’s License with clean driving record (preferred).
FCC or CET Certified (preferred).
