Living in the Area
Bank Street is located
in New York City’s Upper West Side—a bustling family and university neighborhood near Columbia University and the Cathedral of
St. John the Divine, the largest Gothic cathedral in North America. Their main building is just a few steps off Broadway, a busy avenue
lined with shops and restaurants, and just a short bus or subway ride to Lincoln Center, the Metropolitan Museum, Broadway theaters, and all
that New York City has to offer.
In a city of over 8 million, the Upper West Side possesses a strong sense of community and a
neighborhood feel. With its close proximity to Central Park and vibrant restaurant scene, the Upper West Side has maintained its character
and residential feel. Additionally, the Upper West Side is a fantastic spot for people who like a little green space in their lives. Not
only is Central Park super accessible, Riverside Park also calls the Upper West Side home. Riverside Park stretches for 86 blocks along the
Hudson River. It features cafes, art installations, and bike and jogging paths. It is Manhattan’s most spectacular waterfront park,
and is therefore one of only eight officially designated landmarks in the City of New York.
All of Manhattan’s countless
museums, sports venues, restaurants, theater scene are all within a short subway ride or car ride away, as are weekend getaways to
Connecticut or Upstate New York for skiing or swimming.
