Web Developer Job Description (REMOTE)

We are looking for an outstanding, collaborative Web Developer with strong problem solving skills be responsible for the development, architecture, and maintenance of our WooCommerce powered WordPress website and partner portal, integrating and updating data from various back-end services and databases, gathering and refining requirements from stakeholders to develop new website features to improve usability and site functionality, as well as integration of our products catalog and metadata with supporting operations and marketing platforms such as Cloudinary, HubSpot, and 3kit.
Key Competencies:
- Knowledgeable in front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery
- Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
- Understanding of web hosting and basic server administration
- Strong understanding of relational database systems (preferably MySQL)
- Experience with Agile development methodology
- WordPress custom post types, taxonomy terms, and advanced custom fields
- Functional Responsibilities
- Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
- Keeping all parties up to date on progress and timelines
- Cooperate with web designers to match visual design intent
- Collaborating with developers, designers, and stakeholders to implement new web features.
- Technical Responsibilities
- Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
- Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site
- Maintain codebase in accordance with source and version control best practices (Git)
- Must be able to work within a development team utilizing source control branching, merging, and releases
- Integrate custom post types with dynamic custom fields utilizing vanilla WordPress hooks, functions, and APIs
- Develop theme with a clear understanding of the WordPress theme architecture and post loop
- Assist with reports and data extraction when needed
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of web development experience
- Proven working experience in web programming
- Hands on experience with technical projects
- Must have a strong knowledge of the WordPress platform
- Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
