Description If you have a passion for Human Resources and you’re looking for an exciting, new Generalist opportunity, Robert Half has the opportunity for you as a Human Resources Generalist. This role involves various HR duties, including recruiting, owning new hire orientation, managing the employee handbook, and handling employee relations.
Major responsibilities
– Manage digital and physical files for employees and their documents, including benefits, attendance records, and annual reviews
– Employee relations, involving engaging employees and coordinating sensitive conversations
– Design templates for HR documents, including the Employee Handbook
– Evaluate employee performance, including assisting with annual reviews, appraising pay scales, and coordinating disciplinary action (including terminations if necessary)
– Create official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary adjustments, updates to the employee handbook, leave of absences, and warning/termination letters
– Collaborate with other HR team members to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for new company employees
– Compare federal, state, and local laws to current internal policies and procedures
– Engage with upper management, employees, and third-party vendors
– Develop employee engagement plans, including budget approvals and management oversite
– Design & /or support a recruitment plan according to operational and business projections
– Create onboarding plans and educate newly hired employees on internal procedures, HR policies, and regulations
– Accountable for completing various tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department Requirements – Strong understanding local, state and federal laws
– Experience using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
– Excellent written and verbal business skills
– Full cycle recruiting experience
– Eagerness to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
– Prior experience coordinating and implementing Open Enrollment is a plus
– The ideal hire for this role is highly professional; able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity
– Proficient with social media platforms as well as office computer applications and software
– Prior HR experience in a Generalist capacity
– B.A. or B.S. degree preferred, preferably with a Human Resources or Psychology emphasis
