LOCATION: SMCP NORTH AMERICA CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS – 44 WALL STREET, NEW YORK, NY
This position is responsible for providing HR generalist support to the assigned employee population, while fostering a positive, professional and inclusive employee experience.

What You’ll Do:
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Employee Relations
Advise, coach and counsel management on employee relations issues, and formulate specific measurable actions to help resolve issues, increase effectiveness, build relationships, and achieve business goals
Respond to concerns raised by employees through direct outreach or through our employee hotline. Identify potential problem areas and work with managers to take specific actions to address issues and/or mitigate risk
Participate in employee investigations in coordination with HR leadership and management as directed
Coordinate and consult with HR leadership on performance management issues, including corrective action and termination
Maintain accurate and secure records in support of employee relations, engagement, discipline and safety processes
HR Business Partner support
Regularly meet with district managers to identify and develop action plans around organizational needs and opportunities
Conduct exit interviews with store managers and employees, as needed
Review Onboarding and Exit Survey feedback and share with district managers on a regular basis
Provide support and direction related to HR processes including the performance evaluation and merit increase processes
Recruitment
Support recruitment of store employees by reviewing, editing as necessary, and approving job requisitions and offer letters in the Company’s talent acquisition system
Provide support to store managers as an expert user of the Company’s talent acquisition platform
Liaise with the compensation team regarding job offers as needed
Actively participate in recruitment/interviews for designated employee group as needed
Proactively support talent pipeline development
Administrative Coordination and Support
Review background checks for designated employee group and take responsive action as necessary
Review and respond to Equifax unemployment claims for designated employee group
Provide employment verification for designated employee group, when not available through The Work Number
Support filing of Workers Compensation claims and any required follow-up with employee and/or insurance company
Process the onboarding and offboarding of employees in the designated employee group in the Company’s HRIS system
Respond to assigned inquiries submitted through the Company’s HRIS system for the designated employee group
Who You Are:
Ideal education, previous work experience, special skills (e.g., foreign languages), and personal characteristics.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree
One year of related experience
Strong Analytics skills
Special Skills:
Foreign Languages, a plus
Personal Characteristics:
Highly motivated, self-starting individual & strategic thinker
Must be hands on and enjoy working in a highly creative and entrepreneurial environment
Strong interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written)
Must be detail oriented, organized and flexible
