Title: IN-FSSA-Equity Consultant for Indiana 988 and Crisis Response Planning (675583)
Description:
OVERVIEW
Able to look at crisis services through an equity lens and provide strategic direction on how to build a crisis system that the people of Indiana can trust and depend on.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The person selected for this position will serve on DMHA’s 988 Planning Team and will collaborate with Indiana’s 988 core area planning committees and the Indiana Crisis Response and Diversion Taskforce.
One of the primary tasks of this role will be to develop a strategic plan that will:
– ensure that community member input is regularly incorporated into the process of implementing and sustaining 988 and coordinated crisis care
– increase outreach to groups who historically distrust crisis response services
– identify and/or create crisis response and diversion practices that build trust between crisis service providers and Indiana residents
– help Indiana residents understand what their rights are related to crisis care, and what they can access and expect
The strategic plan developed should outline key recommendations for DMHA leadership to focus on in order to realize Indiana’s vision to provide quick, competent, and nation-leading crisis response services for every Indiana resident.
This plan also should include the identification of key social determinants of health that must be addressed by DMHA/FSSA (and across agencies) in order to maximize the potential of Indiana’s crisis response and diversion system and ensure that we are primarily focused on the needs of the public (with a secondary focus on those in the crisis system who serve them).
It is expected that the person selected for this position will develop and maintain strong working relationships with members of DMHA’s 988 Planning Team, key stakeholders and community partners
This position may require additional tasks relevant to this role as assigned by the DMHA Executive Director of Prevention, Suicide Prevention and Crisis Response
