We’re looking for an experienced Django-Python developer to join our team as an independent contractor/freelancer. Fully remote.
Effective communication is essential for this job. You must have very clear English-speaking and writing skills in order to help team members understand your work.
- Job Hours: Full-Time (7-8 hours) basis
Being specialized in Docker / DevOps is a plus.

The platform we use, Open edX, is primarily written in Django; millions of learners use it, including edx.org. Take a look at its main GitHub repo and components.

Since we’re full-stack engineers, we want to understand how great you are at building systems end-to-end, from the operating systems and container layer to the backend to the frontend. Even if we all specialize in one specific area, we want to be able to have ownership over an entire application.
We’ll ask you about the architectures of systems you’ve built (fantastic resource: https://github.com/donnemartin/system-design-primer) as well as what you’re aiming for in terms of your career as an engineer.
If you qualify, we’d like you to conduct an Open edX test that you would need to pass. A technical interview will follow where you will demonstrate the test and your skills.
