Under direct supervision, maintains communication and provides information to Campus Safety and Facilities staff in non-emergency situations and dispatches emergency calls.
Duties of this position include answering telephones, dispatching officers and university staff to non-emergency and emergency situations, communicates with all units of the university and other law enforcement agencies, records all events into the department computer and reporting software, monitors campus safety cameras in real time, and conducts computer searches in law enforcement databases.
This position works at the Lake Shore Campus, and will have to maintain a flexible schedule and work weekends as well as weekdays. The position reports operationally to the Watch Commander and may need to work extended shifts as directed. The position reports administratively as assigned.
Illinois State Police LEADS Certification must be attained within 90 days of employment and be maintained annually.
