It’s natural for you to motivate a team towards a common goal and you’re excited to lead a camp team to a fun and fulfilling summer!QUALIFICATIONS: College Degree or equivalent life experience.Day Care/Preschool teaching experience with 3 year olds.Previous experience in a camp setting is preferred.Background in Early Childhood Education or equivalent experience.Professional Certification and/or Professional Licensure preferred.Possess strong leadership skills.Willing and able to relate to 3 year olds.Strong group management skills.Good health and physical stamina.Emotionally mature, creative, responsible, and punctual.Team player and willing to work hard.Ability to take direction from the Director of Summer Programs, as well as act independently.Ability to maintain a calm manner in stressful and/or emergency situations.Work together with a few counselors to lead a group of 4 year olds through a schedule of activities. HOURS: This position is from 8am – 1:30pm, with shared duties 1:00-3:45pm.If you are a college graduate, and have a background working with preschoolers, please apply! There are typically 12 – 15 campers in a group, and 3 group counselors that assist the lead. All staff at our camp are a minimum of 18 years of age.
The activities are planned and lead by Activity Specialists. The administration and staff strive to make every child feel comfortable and safe in a fun camp setting. Founded in 1973, the camps noncompetitive environment fosters self-esteem and individual accomplishments.
We serve children ages 3-12.Camp is divided into three sections: Our Full-Day program is for our campers entering grades K-6. Campers stay for the full day (8:00am-3:45pm).Our Threes program is for campers who are 3 years old. These campers leave every day at 1pm and staff stay for a meeting until 1:30pm.Our Fours program is for campers who are 4 years old. These campers attend camp for a full day (8:00am-3:45pm) M/W/F and leave at 1pm on T/Th.INVEST IN YOUR OWN GROWTH NARRATIVEWorking at Tenacre Day Camp provides staff with opportunities to develop technical and interpersonal skills that are transferrable to many other industries and interest areas.
