Senior Accountant

Howlett Holdings is looking for an individual to assist in accounting activities at their main office location in Avon, New York. The Senior accountant’s responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations and financial planning and analysis.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Manage and accurately complete the financial month end close process
· Monitor, record and send daily margin calls for investment accounts
· Manage and accurately complete financial analytics
· Financial planning and analysis
· Assist with miscellaneous projects and compliance tasks
· Collaborate with operations on accounting system matters
· Supervise one remote data entry employee in India
· Treasury management
· Prepare the monthly borrowing base for the bank
· Assist with audit preparation and audit requests

· Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Knowledge:
· Accounting degree, or equivalent work experience
· Basic knowledge of general accounting principles
· Experience with QuickBooks (desired, but not required)
· Agricultural background or expertise (desired, but not required)
· Understanding of the commodity markets (Chicago Board of Trade) (desired, but not required)
