Job Description:
Recruiting functions
Handles employment application intake
Prescreens candidates to determine the most qualified and promising candidates according to minimum and preferred qualifications
Assists in hiring process by coordinating job posting on the website, reviewing candidate reports, performing telephone interviews, and reference checks
Assembles personnel files in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations
Prepares new-hire paperwork
Assists with new-employee orientations
Administration functions
Answers phones for the Recruiting department and other Transportation personnel when required
Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects
Provides clerical and operational support
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent, with some college or technical school course work
Up to three years of job-related experience, preferably in a Human Resources department
Extensive knowledge and demonstrated skills in navigating Microsoft Office suite: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Management of web-based job boards and ATS
Job Preferences:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
Up to three years of transportation or logistics experience
Extensive knowledge and demonstrated skills in navigating Microsoft Publisher
Additional Qualifications:
High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
Ability to operate most standard office equipment
Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines
Excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills
Excellent telephone and oral communication skills
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
