General Job Summary:
The Medical Affairs Strategy and Communications, Sr. Director/ Vice President has global responsibility for refining and driving the medical affairs’ strategy and scientific communication solutions that clients need to achieve their business objectives. This role is member of the Senior Leadership Team.
The Sr. Director/ Vice President provides strategic leadership for the to-be-developed medical affairs offering as well as the existing medical communications offering and team (3 direct reports). In addition, this new contributor oversees and supports the development of medical affairs (medical education materials, training decks, infographics, etc) and publications projects (manuscripts, literature reviews, conference abstracts and posters). Lastly, this person will be responsible for supporting documentation of and compliance with templates, SOPs, and best practices for the team.

Medical Communications (45%)
– Oversee existing medical communications offering
– Lead the team of Medical Writers working on abstracts, manuscripts, and posters
– Contribute to project work primarily as editorial reviewer
Medical Affairs Strategy (35%)
– Grow current and establish new medical affairs offering(s) and internal processes to deliver these engagements; as appropriate, serve as key client contact
– In conjunction with the team, oversee development and deployment of innovative methods and strategic medical affairs and medical communication solutions as needed to contribute to the firm’s strategic objective
– Lead the development of sales/MSL training materials and other collateral
– Integrate/alignment with field medical for strategic plan on clinical initiatives
Team/Personnel Management (10%)
– Engage in a variety of marketing activities and represent KJT Group at target industry conferences
– Support business development through innovative research solutions and presentations to clients
– Mentor and foster development of direct reports through leadership
– Establish annual budget for direct reporting groups, with expenses and chargeability/payroll transfer targets
Leadership Team Role/Though Leadership (10%)
– Advance the firm’s market position through thought leadership, reflected in books, articles, and conference presentations
– As a member of the senior leadership team, establish requirements for recruitment and professional development
