OSP Engineer Job Description:
This is a critical support position for a busy utility construction company operating throughout New Mexico. As an OSP Engineer, daily work will revolve around the construction and maintenance of plant infrastructure, design, and engineering as well as providing a route analysis of underground & aerial fiber optic installation. If field survey work is required that will include visiting work locations, taking photos and creating drawings for placement of telecom facilities.
OSP Engineer Responsibilities/Duties:
· Adheres to the industry standard regarding construction and maintenance of the entire OSP structure
· Assumes full responsibility for the safety and security of the existing OSP facility
· Determines the scope, budget, and schedules for existing and new OSP projects
· Submits weekly project status reports to the reporting managers
· Delivers project installations within the stipulated time
· Follows engineering standards and work as per market engineering specifications
· Develops aerial and underground fiber route maps and executes tasks such as route analysis
· Assumes charge of fiber optic verification and all cable route mapping activities
· Maintains records of all fiber cable splicing and topography
· Possesses proper knowledge of CAD and other software applications used to create engineering designs
· Inspects OSP networks
· Grants the proper permissions to execute OSP projects
· Guides junior employees to achieve projects goals

Our Company:
We have been in business in New Mexico for nearly 30 years. We perform work for a variety of communications, power, and fiber optic and data/cell providers. We have 7 offices throughout New Mexico and an office in El Paso, TX.
Job Type: Full-time
Hours: Monday- Friday typically, 8-hour shift between 7a-6p.
Pay: Based on Experience. Paid Bi-weekly. Hourly employee.
Job Qualifications:
· 3-5 years of experience working in the telecom industry
· Excellent knowledge in telecom engineering, construction principles & practices
· Experience and knowledge with New Developments, Subdivision and MDU designs
· Experience and knowledge with aerial, buried, and underground designs
· Experience and knowledge with Fiber and Copper cable placement
· Proficient MS Office skills including Excel, email, internet navigation
· Prior experience managing a high volume of projects
· Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment with diverse work groups
· Excellent organizational skills
