Summary:
A growing dynamic multi-state commercial and industrial painting subcontractor seeking an ambitious, detail-oriented, organized AP Staff Accountant to join our team. The AP Staff Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day invoicing and collections for all vendors with the highest level of efficiency in a fast paced environment. AP Staff Accountant will work with our Assistant Controller, Controller, and Divisional Managers frequently on invoices and other tasks as assigned. Below are a list of duties and responsibilities not including other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities & Duties:
· Reconcile credit card statements and process Sales and Use Tax monthly.
· Maintain equipment and vehicle schedules monthly and annually.
· Gather invoices for weekly Subcontractor payments with divisions.
· Sort, code, and match invoices; Enter and upload invoices into accounting software; Set invoices up for payment on a weekly basis. Transmit via check, ACH, or Wire.
· Monitor accounts to ensure invoices (or vendors) are paid correctly and in a timely manner.
· Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
· Maintain Vendor files.
· Assist with annual audits as required by CPA and Insurance.
· Maintain state, local, construction licenses; Apply for new licenses when needed.
· Assist the Assistant Controller and Controller with miscellaneous projects.
Experience & Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business-related field or 5 years of Accounting Experience
· 2-3 years of experience in the accounting field required.
· Strong background in Job Cost Accounting a HUGE plus.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is a requirement.
· The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while having a strong attention to detail, problem solving, and meeting tight deadlines.
· Having a positive attitude and able to work in a team environment is a requirement.
· Be an organized self-starter.
· Experience working with multiple offices nationwide via phone and video
