Flogistix is looking for an automation engineer to gain familiarity with PLCs and programming software in use by Flogistix and all existing programs for the purpose of creating added functionality for program revisions, support to field techs for automation needs, support in Engineering efforts with R&D, and creation of new PLC programs as required.
The following are the responsibilities of the Automation Engineer
PLC and HMI ProgrammingUnder direction and supervision of Director of Automation, edit / revise existing PLC and HMI programs to introduce new features, fix bugs, and other similar changes and upgrades to existing programs
Upload new programs to existing equipment in the field via cellular modem connected to equipment and assist field techs with settings and control configuration upon updating
Create new PLC and HMI programs as needed for company assets (compressors, pump systems, manufacturing systems, etc.)
Autodesk Inventor 3D design softwareGain familiarity with 3D modelling software for revision and creation of control systems drawings (wiring diagrams as well as 3D models for construction use, troubleshooting, etc.)
Support systems management for documenting drawing changes, UL Listing requirements, and dissemination of drawings to field techs and customers
Technical SupportControl panel manufacturing is in-house and constructs systems in accordance with UL requirements, and Flogistix Automation design criteria. Support all manufacturing efforts to properly construct PLC and VFD panels as needed
Flogistix Manufacturing includes installation and wiring of control systems. Support as needed with field wiring of on-skid devices to panels, and instrument setup as needed.
Flogistix Manufacturing includes thorough testing of all equipment. Support test run employees as needed with diagnostics and setup of automation systems
Flogistix Field Services operates owned and rented assets across the country. Support Field Techs as needed with remote program downloads and troubleshooting typically including remote connection to PLC for diagnostics.
Flogistix customers supply installation work of all compressors. Support as needed 3rd party installers in securing correct documents and setup / operation of automation systems
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma and trade or tech school preferred
5 year’s experience in a similar role preferred
Oil field experience preferred
Ability to stand indoors and outdoors for long periods of time, may lift up to 30lbs occasionally.
Manual dexterity
Potential for some travel
Team player and problem solver with good customer service skills
