Responsibilities may include:
Teaching a broad range of undergraduate engineering courses required for the Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering program. Teaching assignments are expected to be in courses related to general engineering with a concentration in mechanical engineering. Teaching of other related courses may be required
Advising of students majoring in Engineering and ensuring that their academic progress meets requirements set by the institution, working with students to encourage professional development, and working with upper-level students on their senior capstone design projects
Supporting departmental efforts for continued improvement of programs
Serving the University through committee participation
Qualifications:
Evangelical Christian statement of faith, experience, and mission fit
A graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is required. An earned Ph.D. in Engineering is preferred
Candidates with PE certification and industry experience are particularly desirable
The candidate should have a broad interest in engineering disciplines at the undergraduate level and the ability to teach courses related to machine synthesis, engineering materials, mechanical vibrations, and ability to mentor students in capstone design projects
Strong presentation skills, and commitment to quality classroom instruction and student learning
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and proven ability to work collaboratively with others
Ability to lift 25 lbs
