About the Role:
As a Hardware Product Designer at SmartAC.com, you’ll actively collaborate with our experienced team, immersing yourself in the entire product lifecycle. Reporting directly to the Head of Hardware, you’ll work closely with the team to sustain core hardware products and play a pivotal role in the conception and prototyping of new ideas. Your contributions will be integral to the success of our products, guiding them from the initial concept to market launch, delivery, deployment, and continuous support.

— Collaborate within a small, passionate team, sharing ideas, concepts, and designs
— Finalize designs for tooling and manufacturing in collaboration with engineers
— Support New Product Development (NPD) activities such as testing, qualification, certification, and packaging
— Design and manage production of market support products, such as sales and trade show displays
— Work closely with in-house and offshore staff, as well as suppliers
About You:
— Industrial design, engineering, or related degree
— Experience with consumer electronics product development or a deep understanding of its constituent aspects
— Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including DFM/DFA, with a specific emphasis on injection molding processes, and a deep understanding of component interactions in complex assemblies
— Strong communication and visualization skills, with an ability to objectively discuss ideas
— Systems thinking ability
— Excellent time management, prioritization skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
— Strong prototyping abilities, preferably with experience in electronic circuits, 3D printing, and CMF processes – you will be making stuff!
— Familiarity with consumer retail, global trends, technology products, mobile or enterprise software, new market categories, lifestyle brands, and/or startups
Software Requirements:
— Advanced Solidworks proficiency (parametric modeling and experience designing for injection molding preferred)
— Strong skills in Keyshot or Blender and Adobe tools (Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, etc.)
