Human Resources Director

Carolina Dunes Behavioral Health is a 112-bed psychiatric residential and acute treatment facility specializing in children, adolescents, aging adults and their caregivers. Position Overview:

The HR Director will in addition to customary director level duties:

Reporting to the CEO and a member of the senior management team, the Director of Human Resources is responsible for assessing, planning and delivering human resource management programs and policies. As a strategic business partner, operates with sufficient independence to ensure legal compliance, objectivity and fairness in employee matter while aligned with the organization’s mission, vision and values. This position exercises prudent decision making, initiative, judgment, problem solving and self-regulation in a multitude of situations. With a seasoned HRM generalist skill-set, leads the organization in the administration of compensation/benefits, development, employee relations, recruitment/retention, regulatory compliance, safety, staffing and workforce planning.

The HRD is highly visibility and accessible to a 24/7 workforce.

• Serve as a strategic HR business partner with responsibility of aligning the HR functions with established business objectives set forth at both a facility and corporate level.
• Ensure that all HR functions and systems are maintained to ensure regulatory compliance is met at all times. [The Joint Commission, NC regulatory agencies governing hospitals & mental health care providers, Tri-Care]
• Supervise direct reports.
• Serve as the primary facilitator of staffing management within the facility.
• Be the subject matter expert for HR compliance as it relates to accreditation/licensure, state/federal regulations and trends in HR management that promote sustainable growth and efficiency in operations.
• Oversee all benefit and payroll processes within the facility including the HRIS/Payroll system [Paycom].

Qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Management or Human Resources, with Master’s Degree preferred
• Extensive experience providing Director level HR guidance in a licensed healthcare environment, preferably in NC Mental Health licensed facility
• Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience supporting a Joint Commission accredited facility, hospital, residential treatment or skilled nursing facility
• Demonstrated strategic workforce management experience highly desired
• Advanced HR certification preferred
• Minimum 7-10 years HR & Workforce Management experience with demonstrated success supporting a workforce of 250+ employees
• Candidates will be encouraged to maintain or obtain a nationally recognized certification i.e. CHHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR and/or PHR
