Irby Construction Company Hiring for Assistant Controller/Accountant Job at Richland, MS Full Time

Irby Construction Company is seeking an Accountant/Assistant Controller in the Richland, MS corporate office. Duties include recording daily transactions, account reconciliations and analysis, assisting with monthly financial reporting and forecasting, annual reporting to various state and local taxing authorities and overall support of the department. Candidates should be highly organized, proficient in Microsoft Office products, a good communicator and work well with others. A degree in Accounting with a working knowledge of accounting and financial principles as well as 3-5 years prior accounting experience is required. CPA is preferred but not required depending on experience.

Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, and project/financial analysis is a plus.
• CPA certification or CPA Candidate a plus.
• Experience in Construction industry a plus
• Accounting/GAAP knowledge
• Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
• Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects as well as strong follow through skills
• Ability to meet short deadlines and complete projects timely and accurately
• Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced, dynamic environment

Compensation and Benefits: Irby Construction Company offers health (with Flexible Spending Account) including high-deductible (with Health Savings Account), dental, vision, life, short-term and long-term disability, and critical illness insurance, vacation and holiday pay, extended illness, wellness, 401(k) and other benefits. The salary range for this position depending on education, skills and experience is $60,000 to $75,000. Please include your last salary as well as your salary expectations
