The Cosmetic and Skin Surgery Center is seeking a full time Medical Assistant who is energetic, professional, mature, reliable, and a people-oriented individual to complement our team. Our purpose is to provide the highest quality of facial plastic surgery, lasers and cosmetic dermatology to our community in a caring and professional environment.
Medical Assistant
Facilitate providers with all patient visits and procedures to increase productivity: medical or cosmetic consults, Mohs, excisions, IPL, Botox, fillers, biopsies, etc.Room set up for providers Route patients and treatment records to treatment room (check in) and back to front desk (check out)
Photograph treatment sites as required
Assist providers with patients, Educate patients verbally and with printed materials as directed by doctor or policy/procedures: perioperative care, wound care, medications, cosmetic procedures, etc.
Ask for new patient referrals from existing patients
Help to ensure patients scheduled for appropriate follow up appointments, Maintain treatment areas/rooms,Help provider with reports and other paperwork ,Handle telephone calls regarding perioperative care, wound care, minor complications, etc; discuss with doctor and document in medical record
Treatment Room Supplies Assist in maintaining inventory of treatment supplies, Keep procedure rooms cleaned and stocked with treatment supplies, Keep procedure rooms stocked with educational and written materials: wound care handouts, “About Healing” handouts, Mohs maps, etc.
Assist in sterilization and preparation of instruments
Assist with maintenance of sterilization equipment and supplies, Maintain steam sterilization record keeping log book, Assist with and maintain laundry in supply room and treatment rooms, Assist with maintenance of ice maker, autoclave, cameras and blood pressure machine, Notify Clinical Manager when treatment supplies are low
Lab Section
Track cases through outside labsMaintain requisition forms in each treatment room, Keep lab requisition forms, specimen bottles and labels stocked in each treatment room, Maintain lab log with accuracy, Keep office lab orderlyUphold communication with laboratory representatives Prepare and sends out specimens as needed, Notify Lab Manager when lab supplies are low.
Equipment Section
Change sharp boxes and biohazard bags as needed. Assist with laundry and uniforms, Assist with maintenance of ice maker, Assist with maintenance of defibrillator, Assist with maintenance of electric clippers, Clean and polish trays, Clean and maintain treatment table and chairs, Maintain quality of cosmetic and surgical instruments, Upkeep blood pressure machines, Maintain cleanliness of Botox prep area, supply room, and Doctor’s Assistants desk,
Exam Doctor or Nurse
Assist with new patient exams, consultations, and treatments as directed by provider, Assist taking biopsies and filling out requisition forms as directed by the provider, Complete preliminary actions with patients as directed by provider, Report of Findings, Give results of biopsies, tests, or exams to patients as directed by provider, Advise and help patients decide on optimal course of treatment as directed by provider.
Treating Doctor
Call patients after treatments or visits as directed by provider, Call in new and refillable prescriptions for patients as directed by the provider, Complete treatment records, chart notes, and all medical documentation as necessary.
Auxiliary Treatment or Nursing
Assist providers as per Clinical Managers assignments, Help to refer existing and potential patients to providers, Educational Material Section, Upkeep educational materials in procedure rooms, Upkeep current magazines for patients in treatment rooms, Educate cosmetic and medical patients of their procedure and answer questions when needed, Assist with marketing of new and existing procedures, Comply with OSHA guidelines, Keep a basic fund of knowledge of all cosmetic and medical procedures; be able to answer telephone calls regarding them. Perform other production and administrative duties as required. Be professional in your attitude and appearance in order to best represent the practice and our services. Maintain confidentiality with any and all information accessible while performing job duties
