SEMA Construction Hiring for Construction Foreman (Heavy Civil) Job at Emporia, KS Full Time

SEMA Construction, Inc., recently voted a Top Workplace by the Denver Post, has immediate openings for experienced Foreman with a background in Heavy Civil Construction, Earthwork and Structures. The position will be responsible for assisting with projects located in the Wichita, KS. area.

Essential Responsibilities and Abilities:

• Read, understand, interpret and enforce safety policies and practices.
• Examines blueprints to determine dimensions of structure.
• Lays out floor-plan/worksite as needed.
• Determines sequence of activities concerned with fabrication, assembly, and erection of structure.
• Assigns workers to such tasks as cutting material to size, building concrete forms, erecting wooden framework, and laying flooring.
• Inspects work performed by subordinates to ensure quality.
• Supervises workers engaged in building timber structures such as cofferdams, trestles, and supports for concrete forms.
• Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product to increase efficiency of work crew.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems, assists workers in solving work problems, and initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
• Maintain a general knowledge of equipment used on the job including basic understanding of equipment limits and designed purposes.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 7 years of Supervisor or Foreperson concrete bridge work experience – supervising bridge carpenters, laborers, and concrete finishers.
• A minimum of 10 years of work experience and understanding of concrete forms, form setting in bridge work, deck work, concrete paving, highway concrete work
• A minimum of 7 years of reading blueprints work experience in bridge work, heavy civil highway projects
• Education – four or more years related experience and / or training; or a bachelor degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
