The Human Resource Manager is a key member of our management team, broadly responsible to lead in the areas of recruiting, onboarding, developing and compensation of our employees. JMX Brands has a strong culture of engagement, and the Human
Resource Manager plays a critical role in nurturing and enriching that culture, collaboratively with the CEO and others. The work demands a high commitment to success of individual employees and the business as a whole, in recognition of alignment between the two. Success is determined by engaged employees, a diverse and inclusive workforce, regulatory compliance, competitive compensation while maintaining overall costs, and shared success in achieving strategic priorities. This is a new Tier 3 position located within our Business, Finance and Human Resource Team, reporting directly to the Business Manager and working closely with the CEO.
Specific responsibilities include:
The twin goals are to provide compensation that is slightly above the market median, while maintaining costs to provide sustainability.
Employee Engagement Committee.
High level desired ends through 2024:
1. Update our human resource policies, compensation and practices to reflect the recent growth and anticipated growth of the company. In a little more than a year, we have moved from 42 employees to 70, with satellite offices and more growth to come.
2. Lead to increased diversity and inclusion.
3. Maintain and build upon our status as a “Best Place to Work”.
4. Guide our movement to increase remote work for select positions.
5. Collaborate with Fulfillment Team Manager to develop policies for our expanding team of warehouse workers and drivers, especially regarding safety and regulatory requirements.
6. Participate in building expansion as it relates to effective workspaces.
Characteristics and qualifications:
Qualifications include three – five years’ direct experience in human resource management. We’re looking for a creative, driven person with the commitment and character to lead in ways that reflect our core values and is ready for a challenge in helping us to move from a small to mid-sized company. Competence is required in a variety of human resource disciplines, including regulatory issues, compensation and benefits, diversity and inclusion practices. The successful candidate will be a problem- solver, a good communicator, and driven to help others succeed. Baccalaureate degree is required, graduate degree preferred. SHRM Certification is preferred.
