Compensation: $25.00 to $30.00 hourly
Perform day-to-day accounting and clerical functions to support supervisors as an Accounting Clerk at Robert Half. In this position, you will be responsible for playing an essential role in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), general data entry, and matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers. This fulfilling team oriented environment offers you a hands-on experience that will lead to career advancement, a great work space/office, and challenging responsibilities. This is a long-term contract / temporary position based in the New York, New York area.
Responsibilities
– Companywide accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
– Contribute to Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance
– Circulate financial information to journals and ledgers
– Compose statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources
– See to the proper coding of documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes
– Work with Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing
– Rectify discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
Job Requirements:
– AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
– navigating basic office equipment and protocols experience
– Accurate, swift, data entry abilities
– Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment
– Qualified in Spreadsheet and ERP system
