NIGHT SHIFT SHIPPING MANAGER DUTIES:
· Direct warehouse operations to ensure achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness objectives.
· Direct inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, and logistics quality management.
· Plan or implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes.
· Train shipping department personnel in roles or responsibilities regarding logistics strategies.
· Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, and training/safety records.
· Implement specific customer requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics.
· Resolve problems/issues concerning transportation and logistics systems, such as truck repairs, city stickers, license plate stickers, etc.
· Manage customer returns, complaints, and any missing and/or damaged items.
· Responsible for all shipping and routing of trucks and vans, including scheduling drivers.
· Manage selection, training and on-boarding of all new hires.
· Manage Samsara and monitor driver usage, while ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
· Provide coaching and training to drivers as well as maintaining constant communication and gathering feedback on customers and route needs.
· Perform employee performance reviews, conduct disciplinary actions and discussions and maintain proper documentation.
· Communicate with HR regarding injury and accident reports, attendance, etc.
· Oversee receipt of daily invoices. Check in keys, I-passes, credit cards and other company property. Ensure all equipment is properly stored and secured.
· Manage route changes, delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations.
· Communicate any changes in employees’ driving record and ensure DOT compliance.
· Answer calls from drivers in the event they need roadside assistance.
· Rent trucks, as needed.
· Schedule snow removal services, landscaping services, equipment repairs, etc., as needed.
· Supervise and monitor maintenance of equipment and general supplies, and purchase new equipment, as needed.
· Conduct semi-annual driver safety meetings.
· Develop risk management programs to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios
· Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety.

· Three (3) years’ experience in Transportation Industry
· Previous supervisory experience preferred
· Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
