Job Description
A Customs Brokerage is seeking a Logistics & Warehouse Coordinator to become part of a team that is committed to providing the highest possible standards of customer service and support.
This position entails exceeding client’s expectations by:
- Managing and routing orders properly following account priorities.
- Arranging transportation, quotes, and appointments for cargo shipped from the warehouse.
- Reviewing inventory and making the necessary adjustments.
- Maintaining shipping schedules.
- Filing and managing carrier freight claims.
- Attending to drivers and checking their drivers license.
- Following up on paperwork: managing container freight station paperwork.
- Answering warehouse phone calls.
- Processing client billing charges for warehouse storage and other charges at the end of the month.
- Updating customer charges when needed.
- Completes other duties or projects as assigned.
- Complies with all customers SOPs, safety rules and regulations, and departmental procedures.
Skills And Experience
The ideal candidate must:
- Have experience in arranging domestic and international shipments; choosing and coordinating the correct logistics agents and trucking companies; preparing documentation(s), such as bill of lading and delivery orders.
- Have excellent customer service skills (internal and external).
- Be able to communicate (read and write) effectively in a business environment in English and Spanish.
- Forklift Certification, TSA Training (STA), HazMat Training a plus, but not required.
- C-TPAT Training, and OSHA Training preferred.
- Must be able to attend to high volume incoming phone calls and emails, and provide extensive follow-up, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Previous experience in the international freight industry is a plus.
