A Safe Haven Foundation Hiring for Clinical Specialist – VOCA Job at Chicago, IL Full Time

This highly visible and impactful position will provide assessments and direct clinical services to individuals who are identified to be victims of crime.

Position Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessments with clients identified as being victims of crime
• Develop clinical treatment plans with clients following their clinical assessments
• Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans as needed·
• Maintain availability for and conduct crisis management and crisis intervention sessions both in-person and via telehealth·
• Conduct trauma-focused individual and family psychotherapy
• Facilitate weekly psychotherapy groups that focus on issues encountered by individuals who have been victims of crime, which may include but are not limited to:
• Domestic Violence – Evidence-based groups specifically focused on issues pertaining to victims of domestic violence
• Trauma – e.g. Seeking Safety, Trauma Focus Group Therapy,
• Present-Centered Supportive Group Therapy
• Addiction and Trauma Recovery Integration Model
• Trauma-Informed Expressive Therapy
• Grief and Loss – Evidence-based groups that target grief and loss related to being a victim of violence or crime
• Create appropriate referrals to clinical and related services
• Collaborate with case management staff regarding referrals and clients’ needs·
• Attend weekly BH Department staffing to discuss treatment interventions, referrals, and information relevant to clients
• Assist in mentoring student clinicians

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Knowledge of community support systems, health care and human service resources
• In-depth knowledge of Medicaid Rule 132
• Excellent time-management skills and self-initiative
• Ability to adhere to the professional code of ethics·
• Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made
• Speaking , talking to others to convey information effectively
• Time Management – Managing one’s own time and the time of others.
• Judgment and Decision Making – Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate option
• Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
• Advanced level computer, Microsoft Office Suite skills required

Qualifications

Education/Experience

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or Clinical Counseling is required
• Certification in IM-CANS assessment and treatment planning is a definite plus!·
• Certification in DV service delivery also a definite plus! (may be attained post-employment within 30 days·
• Experience working within a clinical setting that treats victims of trauma, crime, and violence is a definite plus·
• Experience utilizing trauma-informed clinical models

Licensure Required
The following are acceptable educational and licensure statuses for this position:

• Pre-licensed Doctor of Psychology (PsyD/PsyD candidate)
• LSW
• LPC
• LCSW
• LCPC
