As part of the MAAS client delivery team, the Senior Accountant is central to the delivery of support and services to our clients. They review all aspects of financial accounting and reporting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll processing, accounting review, reconciliation preparation, and financial reporting. They train and develop accounting staff and lead system and process change projects internally and with clients. They work in a team-based approach and have broad exposure to a variety of clients in a variety of industries. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will have opportunities to learn and advance in this fast-growing department. Training, both formal and on-the-job is an integral part of the role, which would include accounting knowledge and technical tools. You will also be assigned a Performance Manager and a Peer to guide you, with the support of the firm, to achieve your professional goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities may include:

• Accounts Payable:
  • Process, code, and/or review vendor invoices
  • Review new vendor setup for accounts and files based on Client needs and systems
  • Learn and master tools, such as Bill.com
• Accounts Receivable:
  • Review customer payments timely and accurately in multiple Client accounting systems
  • Review revenues from 3rd party applications or banks into accounting system
  • Monitor open receivables
• Payroll:
  • Review payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Review multiple Clients’ payroll weekly, biweekly or semi-monthly as required by the Client. Manage set up and processing of all payroll deductions including benefits, tax, and wage garnishment obligations. Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Learn and master tools, such as ADP RUN and Adaptive Resource Edge
• Reconciliations:
  • Review reconciled general ledger accounts, including bank, investment, etc.
  • Tie-out reconciliations of subsidiary ledgers to general ledger accounts
• Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for clients.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent training required.
• 2-5 years’ accounting experience required
• Communication Quarterback: You will be the driver of communication between the client and our internal team so strong skills here are a must both verbal and written.
• Previous payroll, payables, receivables, and reconciliation experience a plus
• Strong technology skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook at a minimum, more applications preferred)
• Experience with accounting systems, QuickBooks, and Intacct preferred
• Excellent time management skills
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Team player with a positive “can-do” approach
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
• Able to learn new technology skills and systems and apply them quickly
• Timely, consistent, and accurate delivery of assignments
• Demonstrated understanding of accounting practices and regulations and ability to apply them accurately
• Demonstrated Client-centric approach
