There is one vacancy with the Department of Community Services, Community Assistance Division, Rental Assistance Branch located in Downtown Honolulu. Under the general supervision of the Supervising Clerk II, this position creates and maintains the account receivables for the federally funded Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program; receives payments for daily deposits; records and inputs all accounts receivable activity; inputs and updates data in Section 8 database; track outstanding accounts; compiles data and prepares reports; performs other related duties.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Three (3) years of clerical experience, two (2) years of which shall have been in account record keeping work.
Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices; office practices and procedures; grammar, spelling, and word usage; filing methods and systems; use of standard office machines. Such experience must have also demonstrated the ability to maintain fiscal accounts and records; detect errors in posting and calculations; prepare financial reports and statements; interpret fiscal records and data; work harmoniously with others; etc.
Substitution: An Associate degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of clerical experience and up to one year of account record keeping experience. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university will substitute for all of the required experience.
