Actalent Hiring for REMOTE Medical Coder Job at Boston, MA Full Time

Here’s What You’ll Do:

• Provide independent review of data coded by third parties by ensuring consistent code assignment within a project by reviewing coding and re-assignment
• Oversee work outsourced to CRO through medical coding review, synonym dictionaries review, therapeutically aligned coding conventions
• Review, and maintain guidance and training documentation for coding guidelines an accordance with ICH guidance, official coding guidelines and dictionary definitions
• Communicate issues that require decisions, including proposal for a solution
• Provide support to other departments concerning dictionary use and code assignment
• Create and maintain coding guidelines
• Ensure compliance with industry quality standards, regulations, guidelines and procedures
• Act as coding SME for project teams by providing cross-functional information on important changes both technically and content related
• Provides input to the departmental strategy and goals, working closely with the DM Lead team to ensure alignment with overall Corporate strategy and goals

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

• Bachelor of Science degree in biology or health-related field
• English fluency
• 5+ years medical coding using WHODrug and MedDRA dictionaries
• 5+ years in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry or CRO environment
• Knowledge of ICH/GCP guidelines, 21 CFR Part 11 and clinical trial methodology
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Detail oriented, ability to multitask with strong prioritization, planning and organization skills
• Excellent team player
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
• Working knowledge of MedDRA and WHODrug best practice documents
• Experience with coding application(s), Medidata Rave Coder desirable
• Good understanding of Clinical Data Management processes and the applicable regulatory requirements
• Good overview of all systems lined to the coding process, and understanding of their interactions and dependencies
