Human Resources Generalist Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for running the daily functions of the Human Resources department including but not limited to employee relations, leave of absence management, benefit administration, workers compensation, recruitment, employment law, and compliance. The Human Resources Generalist will work together with the Human Resources team to support our employees and business needs.
Human Resources Generalist Essential Functions
Recommend, develop, and administer human resource plans, policies, and procedures for various facets of human resources
Work with managers to identify recruitment needs
Oversee and conduct the onboarding and offboarding of employees
Perform company-wide benefits
Interface with employees and management by handling requests, employee relation issues including disciplinary issues, grievances while helping to resolve other work-related issues
Manage and maintain employee files and records and maintain the HRIS
Manage the procedures/protocols for the company’s leave of absence, FMLA and workers compensation programs
Assist in updating the employee handbook to reflect current company policies and procedures
Explore and manage training programs for employees and management
Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements
Assist with the implementation and updating of company compensation program, job description creation, and conduct annual salary surveys
Be a culture champion; become a member of the company’s Ownership Committee and support the planning and coordination of the company’s wellness program, employee recognition, events, and other culture related activities
Maintain strict confidentiality on all Human Resources, Payroll and company related matters
Human Resources Generalist Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources
3-5 years of Human Resources experience
Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft programs
Must be a team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude
