Advanced Recovery Systems Hiring for Full Time Medical Records Clerk Job at Fort Lauderdale, FL Full Time

Responsibilities:

• Contacts physicians and other ancillary service personnel regarding signatures.
• Assists medical/ clinical staff by providing information as to required documentation.
• Communicates very closely with medical/clinical staff to answer questions and resolve problems to ensure quality documentation in the health records.
• Prepares lists of paper health records needed for signature(s) that are located in the incomplete record area for distribution to appropriate service lines.
• Promptly completes all incoming requests for medical records and other medical forms.
• Promptly completes all outgoing requests for medical records and other medical forms for all facility departments.
• Routes requests for medical information and other correspondence to appropriate person or entities, ie. Transferring Physicians or Facilities (ROI).
• Assists in locating and identifying records and reports.

• Utilizes basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and coding to research and collect information for various medical studies and research projects.
• Participates in approved quality improvement focused reviews.
• Assists with capture and reporting of health record documentation deficiencies as needed.
• Performs analytical tasks associated with the resolution of “coding” errors.
• Filing, scanning and uploading of documents into the facility’s EMR.
• Maintaining records within standards of compliance.
• Maintain healthy boundaries
• Maintain regular contact and open communication with families as needed
• Demonstrate good strategic and problem-solving skills
• Ensure that documentation is timely, consistent, clear and articulate
• Accept and utilize supervision
• Address problems noted by supervisor

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 
  Minimum one (1) year experience with Medical Records
• 
  Coding experience a plus

Knowledge:

Medical record keeping procedures, office terminology, procedures and equipment, medical terminology, the disease process, regulations governing the maintenance of medical records, the standard classified nomenclature of diseases, ICD-9-CM, ICD-10, CPT, E/M and Behavioral Health terminology. State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality laws; Drug-Free Workplace Policies; Workplace Violence; Corporate Integrity & Compliance Program; Substance Abuse and/or Mental Health; Customer and Personal Service; Mathematics; Education and Training; Clerical; Computers and Electronics; Reporting.
