Job Summary
AECOM has an immediate opening for a Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP). The HRBP is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Director, HRBP and will work on a team of experienced HR Partners, chiefly accountable for partnering with their assigned business leaders to deliver a people strategy / talent agenda that drives business performance and growth. This position can be located in the following US West Region locations: Chicago, Illinois; Cleveland/Akron/Columbus, Ohio, Indianapolis, IN, St Louis, MO, Kansas City, MO, or Southfield, MI and will require occasional travel.
This position is part of the West Region HR team responsible for partnering with assigned client group(s). In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with the leaders to deliver a people strategy / talent agenda that drives business performance and growth. You will deliver a best-in-class employee experience through manager and employee coaching, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, labor and employee relations strategy, and implementing strategic HR initiatives (i.e., talent, culture, inclusion & diversity) at a regional and local level.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Serve as strategic partner to assigned client group(s), designing and implementing plans that address hiring, retention, development, and engagement.
* Coach and consult leaders and people managers on organizational effectiveness, talent management, performance and development so they can lead the organization to meet established business targets using best practice techniques and processes.
* Leverage change management and organizational development tools to facilitate organizational redesigns, team integrations and new manager assimilations.
* Facilitate the talent review process and create plans to develop and deploy our key talent and address succession gaps.
* Implement talent development. performance management, engagement and ED&I programs within client groups in order to become “a great place to work” company.
* Analyze people metrics to identify trends and courses of action; make people metrics visible routinely to drive leadership behavior and action.
* In collaboration with Compensation team, ensure client group is able to attract, reward, and retain needed talent while ensuring internal pay equity.
* Understand existing workforce and work with managers to anticipate program wins and losses to redeploy resources.
* Work with Talent Acquisition, Hiring Managers and Resource Directors to ensure robust, efficient, process that secures the key talent we need to manage the business.
* Providing consultation, guidance and support in all matters related to employee relations including performance management, code of conduct, fair employment practices, accommodations and all other application of local policies, work rules, procedures and applicable laws.
* Provide business and employee perspective and insights to Centers of Excellence in order to represent the business in HR strategy/program/policy development.
* Other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership, specifically with a mix of talent management, employee relations and HRBP roles.
* Strong expertise in US employment law, compliance, and managing sensitive investigations.
* Experience with analyzing talent data to make fact-based HR decisions and proposals.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Requirements:
* HR certifications, such as PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SPC, Prosci, DiSC, ICF and/or other assessment or coaching certifications.
* Previous experience in a consulting engineering or professional services environment.
* Experience working in a highly matrixed global and/or Fortune 500 organization.
* Experience with process improvement approaches (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Simple Problem Solving).
* Experience in using Workday or similar platform as a human capital management solution.
* Experience in using Microsoft Office Suite, specifically, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
* Seen as a ‘team player’ with a consultative style and ability to exercise a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy in interactions with all levels of the organization in a matrixed team environment.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the experience of making presentations to senior leadership, conducting training, and partnering with the AECOM HR team on special projects.
* Excellent follow through skills and the ability to anticipate and address business needs proactively.
* Ability to maintain perspective, balance, and focus through challenge, uncertainty and change. Ability to work productively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
* Willingness to provide HR support for a variety of client groups with varying business goals and objectives in the US.
* Ability to travel up to 20%.
