AHRC New York City, a family governed organization, is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:* Accurately complete all bookkeeping functions related to accounts payable, payroll, and general accounting assignments.* Perform all required steps/associated functions related to processing vendor invoices.* Validate that invoices are complete, accurate, and supported by appropriate documentation.* Prepare invoice payments and related documentation for entry into AP system.* Prepare actual supporting documentation as needed.* Provide assistance with audits and special projects, as requested.* Conduct other accounts payable tasks as assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:* Associates Degree with at least 1 year accounting/bookkeeping experience or High School diploma with at least 2-3 years experience required.* Proficiency with MS Office applications and capacity to learn use of agency’s accounting systems.* Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with strong attention to detail.* Must be very organized and efficient in completing tasks and demonstrate good time management skills during busy and slower periods throughout the work day.* Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate good judgment in dealing with private situations and information.* AHRC New York City provides equal employment opportunity to all applicants, with employment based upon personal capabilities and qualifications without discrimination because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex (with or without sexual conduct), age, disability, pregnancy, alienage or citizenship status, marital status, creed, genetic disposition or carrier status, sexual orientation or any other protected characteristic as established by law.
