Position Overview:
The Senior Claims Operations Manager is an operational and strategic role that will report into the AVP & Director Claims Operations. The experienced professional will evaluate current business processes, performance, and data to determine and deliver outcomes that improve the overall claims experience. AIG warranty is seeking a candidate who has experience with process reviews and implementation, analyzing and presenting data models, and influences without authority.
The experienced claims professional is responsible for leading team units comprised of claims examiners and adjusters. The successful candidate should have previous experience in leading operational units in a multi-channel claims enterprise. This position will oversee both insurance and service contract claim processing for a high transactional business unit within the General Insurance business unit at AIG. The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicate and execute on initiatives in partnership with Claims Leadership.
- Proactively identify process improvements.
- Maintain good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactively keep Claims management and leadership aware of on-going projects.
- Make recommendations to bring about efficiency and change.
- Develop and implement procedural change.
- Learn and evaluate complex systems.
- Learn, understand, and report on complex data.
- Perform additional duties and work on projects as assigned.
- Maintain strong fiduciary responsibility among all parties involved in the claim’s transaction.
- This position may have direct reports and may require managerial and people leadership abilities.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong working PC knowledge – Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Power Point and Visio.
- Analytical Problem Solving – Able to apply systems thinking to generate solutions, focus on process rather than isolated events to identify root cause, and evaluate alternative solutions.
- Initiative – Able to prepare for problems and/or opportunities in advance and take action without supervision.
- Influence & Persuasion – Able to use tact when expressing ideas or opinions, present new ideas to management, and respond to objectives successfully.
- Flexibility: Able to perform in a fast-paced environment and perform a wide variety of tasks and change focus quickly as internal and external demands change.
- Can apply systems thinking to generate solutions, focus on process rather than isolated events to identify root cause, and evaluate alternative solutions.
- Prior claims experience and an understanding of digitization and technology transformation.
- Able to perform in a fast-paced environment and perform a wide variety of tasks and change focus quickly as internal and external demands change.
- Leadership & Management Skills – Ability to exhibit a “can-do” attitude approach and inspire others to excel. Develop and manage performance.
- Understands virtual and remote management best practices.
Beneficial Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of Warranty or Insurance products is recommended but not required.
- Prior claims experience and an understanding of digitization and technology transformation.
- Ability to process map and document current and future state.
- Strong communication skills required.
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of data gathering and manipulation is preferred.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Equivalent work experience will be considered (four years or more) is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Finance, or other related fields is preferred.

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
