Title: Human Resource Manager
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Base: West Palm Beach, Florida
Position: Full Time; Exempt
Alerion Aviation seeks to add an all-in-one high energy, creative, compassionate Human Resources Manager (HRM) to its team to work out of the West Palm Beach, Florida office. The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and will act as the business partner for employees and managers on human resources matters.
Preference will be given to applicants that have experience with Paylocity and Microsoft Office 365 with heavy usage in Excel and PowerPoint to assist with data trending and reports. HR Generalist experience with knowledge of basic labor laws and regulations also a preference.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties as assigned.
· Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters, disputes, and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
· Maintaining and updating employee files: HR, Employee Health, PRIA, Drug and Alcohol
· Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
· Preparing and maintaining employee new hire packets, ensuring accurate and timely completion of new hire process
· Preparing employee status reports for payroll, HR and/or compliance purposes
· Processing and maintaining all workers’ compensation claims, unemployment requests, FMLA and leaves of absences
· Handles employment related inquiries from applicants, employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
· Maintain awareness of morale and culture within departments across all base office locations, suggest options to ensure positive and effective team environments
· Management of the company federally regulated DOT Drug and Alcohol program for all safety sensitive employees
· Completing payroll semi-monthly and sending out the necessary reports to the appropriate departments on a semi-monthly and monthly basis
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
· Knowledge and working experience of Paylocity Software (highly preferred)
· Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
· Serves as a member of the leadership team and plays an active role in strategic planning, development, and implementation
· Management of all company offered benefits – processing new enrollments, cobra, qualifying events, and reviewing benefits annually with the leadership team for open enrollment
· Oversight and issuances of all company issued items
· Provide input on organization structure and workforce support
· Collaborate with the department leads to ensure programs and processes are aligned and well communicated across the company
· Understanding and participating in roles and responsibilities as defined by the Emergency Response Manual as an Emergency Response Team Manager
· Establish trust through transparent conversations, personable approach and maintaining confidentiality in all matters
· Be an ally for diversity and inclusion initiatives
· Perform other duties as assigned
· Approximate travel: minimal, less than 5%
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, communications, or related field and/or 3-5+ years of experience in human resources, professional development, training, and/or employee relations.
