Summary

This position is responsible for analyzing and recording financial information to maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other financial activities within the organization by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties

1. Prepares and inputs financial transactions into general ledger system, manages daily bank transactions, including reconciling cash receipts, disbursements, direct debits, and bank fees.

2. Performs various month-end closing activities including journal entries, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and account and bank reconciliations.
Assists in maintaining controls over accounting transactions to ensure accuracy of the general ledger.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses and/or Registrations

This position does not require any certification, licenses, or registration.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to management.

Mathematical Skills

Mathematical ability to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principle (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP). Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Computer Skills

Job requires specialized computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications including spreadsheets, report writing, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail, and use accounting software.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
