1. Safety and Compliance
a. Ensure the lockout/tagout policy is followed
b. Ensure that Lytx is being used to coach all drivers to improve driving behavior.
c. Ensure all DOT driver logs are compliant
d. Ensure all trucks meet all DOT requirements
e. Ensure every driver has a valid CDL and Medical Card.
2. Driver Recruiting and Onboarding
a. Work directly with the Director of Transportation and HR Recruiting to continually source drivers to fill the next open position.
b. Work with recruiting to complete on boarding and orientation of all new drivers.
c. Work directly with all Driver Trainers to ensure they are training to the standards of the Transportation Department.
d. Certify all drivers coming out of orientation and training that they are fully ready for the expectations of being an Allen Distribution Driver.
3. Customers
a. Communicate effectively with customers as required
b. Resolve issues promptly or respond with timelines as to when the issue will be resolved
c. Ability to inquire and manage additional opportunities
d. Travel as needed to other regions to the customer to address any and all safety concerns.
4. Driver Training
a. Perform a minimum of one “Check-Ride” with every Allen driver annually. Goal of three per week.
b. Administer and schedule all retraining of drivers who are in a preventable accident or have a preventable injury.
c. Travel to other regions as needed.
d. Develop and maintain lead driver at all domiciles.
e. Work with Driver Managers on Coaching Drivers that have Lytx clips within 4 day time range.
f. Weekly meeting with the Director of Transportation to review ride along performance and schedule upcoming ride alongs and training.
5. Technology
a. Train drivers on maximizing the efficiencies of our technology such as PeopleNet and Lytx.
b. Research and recommend new technology to increase safety and efficiency in Transportation.
6. Project Plans and New Business
a. When assigned, ability to develop a plan from idea thru completion on projects like: New customer start-ups, Lytx Coaching and improvement, etc.
