Process Engineer – Automotive OEM – Base Salary to 65k/year – Columbus, OH
- Our client who has been manufacturing in the US for the past 25 years has a current Process Engineering opportunity to support their group producing high precision parts for the North American automotive industry
- The Process Engineer will be a crucial member of the team working very closely with the production workforce on establishing and improving production processes.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for plant problem solving on the production floor by coordinating efficiency initiatives
- Driving continuous improvement programs of optimizing processes and costs savings
- Working closely with engineering, quality, shift supervisors and department managers to ensure quality operations of materials and equipment on new job start-up
- Developing statistically capable processes that meet/exceed target manufacturing costs
- Participating in root cause analysis meetings
- Providing thorough instructions for successful implementation of process changes
- Focusing on safety, environmental, production, cost and quality
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineer or Mechatronics
- 1+ years of experience in Process/Automation/Controls in a Production/Manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of manufacturing parts and processes (Powder Metal component experience desired)
- Machining experience preferred
- Programming experience preferred
- Comfortable with statistical analysis and software
- ISO/TS/IATF Knowledge
- Computer literacy and proficiency are also required (advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, SAP and CAD)
Compensation:
- Base salary up to 65k/year
