AllWork is hiring for a full-time Payroll / HR Manager who will oversee and supervise our client’s payroll functions while ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities:
· Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, covering 50 states and Canada, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions for 2,000+ part-time non-exempt employees and 75 full-time salaried employees.
· Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
· Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
· Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
· Provides HR guidance when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise, such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
· Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes, across all 50 states and Canada.
· Proficient with payroll software. Paychex experience a plus.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.
· Five + years of related experience required.
· Experience with payroll and benefits for a national retailer a plus.’
