Position Summary
The Logistics Director leads the transportation and parcel freight operations across the organization and reports to the Vice President Operations. This leadership position manages all aspects of outbound customer freight, inbound ocean containers, interfacility transfer logistics and parcel freight operations and strategy. The Director works closely with other functional leadership peers, fulfillment site leaders, finance/FP&A, Sales and inventory planning to determine the right level of service and cost.
In this role, the Director is responsible for developing, implementing and administering best solution parcel freight cost management, global ocean freight management, regional LTL operations and partner carrier relationships. He/She also recommends infrastructure and system enhancements and scaling solutions to support our growth strategy expectations.
Responsibilities

Works with Company leadership to develop operating strategy and goals related to companywide freight spend. Collaborates in the strategic planning and formulation of organization policies and practices specific to freight management.

Develops and interprets Company strategy and implements those ideas into tactical plans and actions necessary for the fulfillment and decoration operating centers to appropriately execute and support those strategies.

Standardizes policies and procedures throughout the operating network.

Works with Pricing, Operations and Finance to develop best fit outbound customer freight modes and operating solutions while maintaining expected service.

Develops the logistics team to its full potential through mentoring and supporting them in a continuous improvement culture.

Specific Areas Of Responsibility Include
+
Budgets: developing and managing operating budgets
+
Freight spend management: responsible for global freight spend, modes, service provider relationships
+
Outbound parcel freight: periodically assesses our calculated freight costing based on our product offering, current contractual terms, and outside market conditions.
Qualifications
Qualifications:

Experienced with leading a freight/logistics operation with a deep understanding of parcel volume and operating methods. Led a fulfillment operating division with demonstrated change management solution implementations leading to freight spend productivity.

Strategic vision: demonstrated experience creating long term solutions to help business grow and operating method recommendations supporting short term business dynamics.

Proven understanding of business and predictive data analytics and KPI reporting and applying collected data in the decision-making process of managing the Companys overall freight spend and operations.

Demonstrated career progression in Logistics, Operations Supply Chain Project Management.
