POSITION REPORTS TO: Program Manager
POSITION SUPERVISES: ACCC Crew Leaders and Members
CLASSIFICATION: Regular, Full-Time, Non-Exempt
POSITION PURPOSE:
The ACCC Site Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of ACCC Crews in the field and coordinates project logistics between the City of Austin staff and the crews completing the projects. Project work includes Habitat Restoration, Trail Building and Maintenance, Wildfire Mitigation, and Public Land Improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Required
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION: High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of previous experience with environmental, landscaping, construction, or conservation practices in the field;
Preferred
EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience teaching, training, and working with a young and diverse population experiencing barriers to education and employment with criminal records and a variety of lifestyles, behaviors, cultural and spiritual practices; and working with contracts, reporting measurements, compliance, member coordination, and, or working as a YouthBuild/AmeriCorps model;
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSA)
KNOWLEDGE: General conservation principles, basic administrative and clerical procedures and systems, Microsoft Office and Google applications;
SKILLS: Lead teams and develop leaders; good problem solving and logistical skills; conflict resolution skills; basic computer skills; operate passenger van, truck with trailer and other heavy equipment. Operate in diverse community settings; able to provide mentorship under stressful conditions
ABILITIES: Attention to detail and accuracy; well-organized; cooperative, patient and willing to assist others; open and honest personality; flexible under pressure; good decision maker; able to build consensus; flexible problem-solving in the field; presents a positive role model for Corps members that supports respect for the learner, for diversity, and for the mission of AYW
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

MANUAL DEXTERITY: Quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects such as hammers, picks, and chainsaws
DYNAMIC/STATIC/TRUNK STRENGTH: The ability to exert muscle force repeatedly or continuously over time. This involves muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue. Exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects; use of abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without ‘giving out’ or fatiguing; may also restrain potentially violent individuals;
VEHICLE AND EQUIPMENT INTERACTION: Navigating and, or driving company 15-passenger company vans; using a computer and computer applications to enter data or process information; Photocopiers and scanners.
WORKING MODEL AND CONDITIONS
ENVIRONMENT: In person at the office and/or project site
INDOORS AT FACILITY: Environmentally controlled conditions, working in an office, or shared office setting, working with others in a group or team; contact with others (face-to-face, by telephone, or otherwise), No hazardous conditions. May be required to work in hot, wet, cold, or other significantly unpleasant conditions
OUTDOORS: Independent, isolated settings may be required to work in hot, wet, cold, or other significantly unpleasant conditions
ATTENDANCE: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; 1-hour unpaid lunch break; Varies according to weekly scheduled activities but generally 40 hours per week unless overtime is pre-approved; Occasional weekends to meet deadlines or special projects; participates in National Service Days activities, staff retreat, and other special events;
TRAVEL: project/service sites and transport corps members as needed; occasional training, offsite meetings, or conferences as requested.
