ABOUT THE COMPANY
Ameritrans Express LLC, one of the nation’s leaders in Contract Delivery Service for the United States Postal Service, is currently seeking a HR Generalist/Recruiter.
The Human Resources Generalist / Recruiter will contribute to the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing, administering pay, benefits, and leave. Will assist the HR Manager with projects, employee relations and enforcing company policies and practices.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
· Collaborates with field operations and current drivers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
· Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
· Develops job postings and advertisements.
· Coordinates with current drivers and postmasters on unique aspects of each job.
· Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
· Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
· Creates an effective and efficient interview process and thoroughly documents results.
· Collaborates with the Human Resources Manager during the offer process, identifying compensation, benefits, vehicle use reimbursements, start dates, and other pertinent details.
· Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
· Develops and utilizes social media channels to enhance applicant flow.
· Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
· Reviews, tracks, and documents all aspects of the employee onboarding process.
· Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
· Implements and conducts new hire orientation programs.
· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Manager.
· Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
