Position Summary

The Senior Logistics Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day logistical operations for Amylyx. This person will analyze logistics options; schedule logistics operations; complete applicable documentation; maintain associated files; monitor and analyze logistics spend; and recommend alternate logistics resources based on research and opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Amylyx-approved carriers, forwarders, and brokers.
• Participate on applicable teams to plan and schedule required logistical activities.
• Ensure completion and availability of accurate applicable documentation for all logistical activities, including (as required) invoices, Customs clearance-related forms, regulatory-related forms, product-specific SDS forms, and any other shipment-specific documentation.
• Routinely track and analyze logistics spend.
• Schedule logistical operations in collaboration with Planning, Quality Assurance, CMOs / suppliers, and carriers / forwarders, and brokers.
• Maintain effective tracking tools for managing and reporting logistical activities.
• Participate in related activities as required.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar hands-on role managing transportation activities. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of transportation requirements for the pharmaceutical industry.
• Solid understanding of cold chain transportation requirements and options.
• Strong background in international transport, including Harmonized Tariff Codes (HTC), carrier / forwarder fee structures, and inter-relationships between carriers, forwarders, brokers, and associated agencies and functions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies or a related field, or equivalent business experience.
• Strong communications and analytical skills.
