Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician III
Anthem Broadband, Idaho’s largest wireless internet provider, is looking for a talented NOC Technician III to join our team! This position is focused on maintaining and monitoring a large network comprised of fiber optic and wireless distribution to customers. The primary job function is to promptly assist field personnel, customer support, and priority customers by phone, internal chats, email, or other communication methods to solve network issues or provide configuration assistance. The most common devices will include wireless radios both in point-to-point and point-to-multipoint configuration, fiber optic distribution, switches, routers, and power distribution units. Attention to detail and thorough documentation is required to maintain high quality service to customers. When network issues arise, the NOC Technician Tier I will investigate, providing regular status updates to the team and escalating when necessary.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The typical duties and responsibilities of a Network Administrator
may include:
·Maintaining Network stability including software, routers, and other physical hardware
·Configuring network equipment to update or resolve network congestion or outages.
·Monitoring Network systems to improve network performance
·Communicating networking issues to other employees and management, especially in training new users
·Fixing software and hardware configuration issues for users on-demand or from inspection of the systems
·Engineering the feasibility of network designs and implementations.
·Will be the next level of support for NOC technicians
NOC Technician I Skills and Qualifications:
-A Network Administrator should have various skills and qualifications to be successful in their position, some of which include:
-Competent in networking technology– Routing, Switching, Wireless. Ethernet, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLAN, SNMP, MSTP, SIP, DWDM
-Computer skills– Network Administrators must be competent in networking, and wireless technologies. Understanding of packet tracing to assist in troubleshooting
-Troubleshooting – Network Administrators troubleshoot Network issues to resolve the cause of network troubles and document findings by publishing a postmortem.
-Analytical thinking – Ability to analyzing given information about network issues to arrive at solutions for the network.
-Problem-solving skills– Ability to analyze without parameters to maximize network utilization.
-Communication skills– strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for conversing with other technicians, clients, vendors, and managers; listening skills are needed to understand client concerns and issues
Network Administrator Education and Training
Network administrator candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in electronics, systems engineering or network administration, or a similar amount of work experience in a related field (5-8 years).
