Job Description
Multi-National Manufacturing Company is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager for their facility in Apple Grove, WV. Candidates with Health & Safety experience may be given priority. The HR Manager will report to the HR Director and support organizational processes & metrics that sustain the achievement of the organization’s overall business direction. He/she will champion employee relations, recruitment, training and development, onboarding and policies & procedures. As well as review and recommend employee relations best practices, for a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
Responsibilities
- Management of the overall recruitment and selection process
- Oversee the new hire orientation process, and introduce new employees to the corporate culture
- Enhance employee relations; offer support to management, teams and individuals
- Ensure innovative systems and practices for employees including onboarding, development, needs assessments and training
- Assist with overall payroll processes and procedures
- Monitor and report on key human resources metrics (i.e., turnover, exit interviews, staffing activity, diversity and overall trends, recommend methodologies and actions to the HR Director
- Maintain a working knowledge of federal and state legislation that impacts the various facets of the employment function to ensure practices and policies are in compliance for domestic and international staff
- Ensure proper policy development and documentation
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
- With limited direction, provide HR support to employees and management as the go-to-person regarding time & attendance, benefits, employee relations, etc.
- Employment Verifications
- Assist with Benefit open enrollment and employee meetings
- Training coordinator for employees and management
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the HR Director
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related business field
- Experience in a Unionized Facility
- 5+ years’ experience in an HR supervisory position
- Demonstrated experience in handling employee relations
- Project management proficiency, especially with implementation of new program
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of local, state and federal employment laws
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation skills, strong relationship-building skills, ability to train employees on human resource systems, procedures and practice
- Strong understanding and experience with HR systems
- Proficiency of computer tools, including experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Excel, and web-based productivity tools required
