The Position:
We are seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join the team in Greensboro, NC! As a valued member of the Accounting Operations Shared Services team, you will be responsible for performing day to day operations related to the close processes across 4 Arch segments. This position will report directly to the VP of Accounting Operations and will be an integral part of the accounting operations team at Arch supporting accounts payable and the bank reconciliation processes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Validate and post journal entries for various segments related to cash and accruals
- Support accounting close process across entities with differing close schedules
- Assist with SOX and audit requests
- Assist VP of Accounting Operations in day-to-day operations
- Assist shared service general accountants both in general ledger and accounts payable to answer questions, address issues, and identify areas of process improvement
- Assist in documenting business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Assist with testing and training of new enhancements related to accounting software
Required Skills/Experience:
- 3-5 years of accounting experience in the field
- Strong knowledge in maintaining general ledgers, preparing accruals and account analysis
- Experience in preparing bank reconciliations
- Strong understanding of activities in the accounts payable function and cash processes
- Knowledge in SOX and internal controls compliance
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Experience with Workday accounting software package
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Moderate to advanced Excel skills including Vlookup and pivot tables
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and to manage priorities of work, maintaining required production levels
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills
- Experience with global shared services functions is highly beneficial
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
