General Description
Responsible for all respective personnel, programs and processes of the assigned area and function. Provide daily guidance and evaluation of all staff interns and/or volunteers under his/her supervision.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Master’s degree preferred but not required.
Must have bachelor’s degree conferred by a college or university accredited by an accrediting organization recognized by Coordinating Board, Texas College, and University system; and

Regular attendance is essential. The ideal candidate will arrive at work on time, prepared to perform assigned duties and work assigned schedule. Incumbent must have the ability to work well with others. Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves and others. Must be able to effectively use computer software and data systems.
Bell County will conduct background checks that will include a criminal background check and may include motor vehicle records, employment records or educational attainment.

Addendum to Juvenile Probation Area Manager
This position is assigned to the Community Based Programs Unit.
Responsible for the management and operation of the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP) and Community Programs. Shall ensure compliance with all applicable laws, standards, and policies related to the JJAEP and Community Based Programs. Shall ensure compliance with contractual provisions of all contracts with the Texas Juvenile Justice Department, and the participating school districts as they relate to the JJAEP. Ensures that services are continually evaluated and being implemented in a manner that best serves the youth of Bell County Juvenile Services
Responsible for the oversight of the Victim Assistance Coordinator.
Responsible for the implementation and supervision of all programs assigned to the Community Based Programs Unit. Programs may include but are not limited to the following: supervising all aspects of community service, youth educational presentations, Boy Scouts, Positive Action, and any new programs developed within the unit.
Ensure compliance with contractual provisions with the Texas Juvenile Justice Department, and the participating school districts as they relate to the JJAEP.
Is the liaison to the school districts in Bell County.
Prepare reports on effectiveness of program activities, recommends training and program redirection as it applies to JJAEP, Community Programs, and Prevention and Intervention Grant.
Evaluate statistical data, interprets results, and prepares reports concerning current status of the projects and programs as it applies to JJAEP, Community Programs, and Prevention and Intervention Grants.
Responsible for the development and provision of departmental programs and services related to addressing the needs of youth in the community and in residential settings, while ensuring a cohesive and integrated process throughout the continuum.
