Full Stack Developer

Assemble is looking for a Full Stack Developer with extensive Ruby on Rails and Vue or React experience to join our fun, creative and highly dedicated team. We are seeking a software engineer to assist in building integrated web-based projects. The candidate will function as the full stack engineer on a small team working with other software engineers.

What you’ll do:
You’ll work on multiple projects building web-based projects while collaborating with a team of experienced and diverse software engineers and designers.

Required Expertise:

• 5+ years professional software development experience
• 3+ years of professional Ruby on Rails
• 3+ years experience with either React or Vue – the initial project will be completed in Vue
• Experience with JS, AWS, Git and relational databases is required
• If you’re backend oriented – familiarity with SQL, hands on (non ORM) database interaction, or a desire to learn more. Bonus if you have familiarity with Docker, NGINX, containerization in general, deploy automation.
• If you’re frontend oriented – Skill with Sass (or similar CSS preprocessing). Bonus if you have familiarity with the content delivery domain (i.e. S3, CDN, playback, streaming, encoding), interest in modernization, build optimization (i.e. web pack or similar, accessibility.
• Experience deploying and maintaining production applications, different environments, code promotion and release processes
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or the equivalent combination of education and experience
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills – clear, concise, compassionate
